Interlaken, Switzerland

us chilling out on the train

AHHH!!!! Switzerland....what can I say? My FAVORITE country! SO beautiful!!

We traveled to Interlaken, Switzerland. It is located in the Bernese Oberland (which is part of the Swiss Alps)

Oh, and a random Hooters in Interlaken
At night, we were walking down the street and these two boys broke out their Alpenhorns and decided to play some tunes. It was VERY cool to see (and hear)

Vienna, Austria

We went to Vienna, which we thought we beautiful, but a little boring. Luckily, we only went for the day, so we walked around a lot and then hopped onto an earlier train.

Here is one of the "nicer" overnight trains. With our two bags, and us, we JUST BARELY fit.

Prague, Czech Republic

we traveled to Prague, which was a BEAUTIFUL city!!

This is a typical Tully picture (you can't see it on here, but the guard is giving Tully a funny look)

This picture was in the Jewish Quarter, which had a lot of historic shuls and little shops

Munich, Germany

We went to Munich, Germany, which was probably one of our favorite cities. We went to the Hofbrauhaus, which is a famous beer hall. The glasses were enormous! Mine was half beer / half lemonade (yum!). They had a band and people got up and danced on the tables.

We also went to Marienplatz, which is a popular square where people gather during certain times of the day watch the clocks put on a little show

Oh, and Tully has his "water in a box"

Berlin, Germany

We also went to Berlin, Germany, which was a very pretty city

Auschwitz and Birkenau

While in Poland (we only went for the day), we took a tour of the concentration camps

Krakow, Poland

we took an overnight train to Poland, which Tully and I nicknamed the "Evil Polish Express" There was a MIDNIGHT stop in Katowice, Poland, which was a little scary, but we managed to switch trains with no problem. We didn't get any sleep though because of Customs waking us up multiple times and screaming in German and Polish.

Amsterdam

Our next stop was Amsterdam. We went to the Anne Frank House

I went shoe shopping - Dutch style

Here is Tully in front of one of the many canals
Here is Tully in the Red Light District
We also got to see the Heineken Museum

Antwerp, Belgium

Here are some pictures of us in Antwerp

Brussels, Begium

We went backpacking all over Europe in November 2006. We went to Brussels, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Krakow, Auschwitz, Vienna, Munich, Interlaken, Paris, Normandy, and London

Here are some pictures from our first stop in Brussels

Martha's Vineyard

In July, we took a trip to Martha's Vineyard.

We brought our bikes and rode all over the island

we also decided to rent mopeds, which wasn't a very good idea. Several police officers, ambulances, sprained ankles, knees, torn ligaments, and a lot of cuts later - I promised Tully to never go on a moped again. Apparently, I wasn't very good at it, but I healed and I learned my lesson :-)

St Thomas

In May, we went on vacation to St Thomas with some friends. We flew to San Juan and took this VERY TINY plane over to St Thomas. As you can tell, I did not know we were taking a plane this small. It was interesting...we survived...and I don't plan on doing that any time soon

Here is Tully being a "ham" in St Thomas

Tully had a great time fighting the pirates

5 boro bike tour

Tully and I participated in the 5-boro bike tour in New York City. It was very cool to ride around all the streets with absolutely no traffic.

The White House

Tully and I got a private tour of the White House, thanks to our friend Dan. We got to see the west wing and the Oval office (of course we couldn't take any pictures) but here we are in the press conference room.

Tully, of course, is making a VERY important speech.
